If you’ve always believed the terms marijuana, hemp, and cannabis to be much the same thing, then it’s time for a little clarification. Hemp and marijuana are two plants that belong to the cannabis family, but marijuana is the strain that produces high levels of THC, the psychoactive compound that’s more correctly referred to as delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol. The important point to follow here is that hemp is not marijuana. Hemp contains minimal amounts of THC. Hemp doesn’t get you high.
